If you had an AI algorithm based on reads/comments, that would be biased towards popularity. If you trained an AI on stories already identified as 'boost worthy', it's possible the AI could learn what 'quality' is, and so be unbiased, but it might just as easily learn authors and publications, and so reproduce bias.
